It’s a known fact that the Washington Washington Football Team plan to select Baylor QB Robert Griffin III with the 2nd pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. And who can blame them, the guy has the tools, the skills, and all the promise you want to see in a future franchise QB. You know, I’m checking R G – 3 out more and more, and as a Dallas fan, I’m getting a bit jealous.

While Washington’s planning their RG-3 celebration, the Indianapolis Colts were playing mind games with the DC faithful by refusing to officially commit publicly that Stanford QB Andrew Luck is indeed their man. There had been chatter for weeks about the Colts wrestling with the decision, but if they were to actually select Griffin, the Heisman Trophy winner, that would have sent shock waves around the Beltway.

Luck himself ended all speculation on Thursday, announcing that the Colts had told him he’s their man.

Meanwhile, the Skins finally got a deal done for middle linebacker and defensive leader London Fletcher, who despite his lengthy career, is still playing at a high level from sideline to sideline. Fletcher inked a 2-year deal to stay in DC despite several offers from other teams. He’s played for 14 seasons in the NFL and has NEVER missed a game.

In Denver, Peyton Manning has arrived and is participating in the Broncos workouts, which is a relief since he’s been sneaking around to Denver area playgrounds to toss the football around. In Pittsburgh, the Steelers have decided to keep back-up QB Charlie Batch, and why not, he’s won five of seven games in relief of starter Ben Rothlisberger.
