On Monday, singer Bobby Brown’s lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, to three misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest last month on suspicion of driving under the influence, reports the Insider.

Brown did not attend the arraignment hearing.

Brown is charged with one count each of driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 percent and driving on a suspended license in connection with incident, which occurred just after noon on March 26.

The judge ordered Brown not to consume any alcoholic beverages until further notice from court and also not to drive with a suspended license. His lawyer said the license is no longer suspended so he is able to drive. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 16.
