Today marks the fifth anniversay of the deadly mass shootings at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) in Blacksburg, Virginia. Virginia’s colleges and universities have investigated hundreds of students, employees, and others over the past several years to make sure history does not repeat itself.

On April 16, 2007, student gunman Seung Hui Cho shot to death 32 people, wounded 25 others and himself. It was the deadliest massacre in modern American history. Colleges and universities developed threat assessment teams in the 1990’s but they were not widely adopted until after the deadly shooting at Virginia Tech.

Cho, a senior English major had previously been  diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder. Cho shot his first victim at West Ambler Johnston Hall at 7:15am.

In this video shooter Cho in the VA Tech Massacre expressed his rage and his ability to get even but he didn’t mention with whom.
