Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL has denied an appeal by the New Orleans Saints in reference to the “Bounty-Gate” scandal that rocked the post-season leading to the suspensions of head coach Sean Payton and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. The ruling also upheld the punishments handed out with Payton gone for the 2012 season and Williams on an indefinite vacation.

Just as soon as Bill Parcells said he was no longer interested in coaching the Saints, the team turned to one of their own assistants, Joe Vitt, who will assume the position for next season. There is a snag. Vitt is also on suspension as well for “Bounty-Gate”, just as the man he’s replacing. Go figure.

It’s a known fact that the Washington Washington Football Team plan to select Baylor QB Robert Griffin III with the 2nd pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. It’s what the ‘Skins do with the rest of their selections that will determine if the team will see a big turnaround in 2012. Word is Washington has it’s eyes focused on CB dwight Bentley of Louisiana-Layfayette. Bentley played in this year’s Senior Bowl under Washington Football Team defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, who likes his coverage skills and tackling ability.
