Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, who hailed himself as the only Republican candidate for President who could actually contrast the President in the upcoming November election, has decided not to take the chance of losing his home state in the GOP primary, and has officially suspended his run at the White House.

Santorum was being dogged on the airwaves in Pennsylvania by pro-Romney ads highlighting Santorum’s last race in his home state in which he lost to current Senator Bob Casey by 17 points. In fact, despite getting out of the race Santorum never even mentioned Romney’s name in his speech and offered nothing in terms of support for the Romney campaign. His staff later revealed that Romney had contacted Santorum to request a meeting.
