NBA Star Lamar Odom and the Dallas Mavericks are parting ways, reports GlobalGrind.com.
Instead of being officially released, Odom will be made “inactive” for the remainder of the season.
In a statement released, Odom said:
“The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it’s in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team.”
Odom continued, “I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.”
Odom was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers before the season started and the trade has not been successful for either Odom or the Mavericks.
Odom and wife reality star Khloe Kardashian are expected to return to L.A. where they will continue filming their reality show, “Khloe and Lamar.”
