Legendary R&B Group New Edition is planning a major 2012 reunion tour to prepare for their 30th anniversary celebration.
According to group member Ron DeVoe, New Edition has reunited and will be working on live tour dates, a book, movie and stage play, as well as a new album. He says, it’s an effort to have multiple projects on the market in time for the 30th anniversary of Candy Girl (the group’s first album).
In an interview with Billboard magazine, DeVoe said, “2012 is going to be an incredible year for us.”
The reunited group will kick off 2012 with a four-day New Year’s weekend run of concerts in California.
Reportedly, all of the group’s members, Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivins, Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell, Ron DeVoe…… and Bobby Brown will be present.
New Edition has not released new material since “Home Again” in 1996.
