Rapper/Actress Queen Latifah is bringing yet another talent competition show to television, according to eurweb.com.
The series “The Star Next Door,” will air on the CW network and will feature mentors including Latifah, Latin singer Gloria Estefan and Country superstar John Rich scouring the country looking for the next set of talent superstars to compete and represent their home towns when they battle in Hollywood. Additional mentors are expected to be announced.
Latifah is Executive Producer of the series, alongside CBS’ Raquel Productions, 25/7 Productions and Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment. The CW network has also picked up a few more reality programs for its new summer lineup: “Breaking Pointe,” a behind-the-stage look at one of the country’s most competitive ballet companies, Salt Lake City’s Ballet West; “The Catalina,” which focuses on the staff of the Miami South Beach hotel of the same name, and musical chairs game show “Oh Sit!.”
