The Florida sunshine won’t be needed to heat up the GOP Presidential race as the gloves are now completely off in the media assaults by Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. The Florida primary voters didn’t hear a lot of ideas, nor was there any positive tone to the various speeches being given by candidates who have little to run on aside from their disdain for President Obama. Only negative attacks and excessive pandering to specific groups with Primary winner Romney telling an audience of seniors not to worry, he will not touch Medicare, but he’s already on record as co-signing on the Paul Ryan budget plan, which intends to dismantle the program as we know it. Romney also made a comment that he is “not concerned about the poor”, which is no secret given the Republican agenda. Meanwhile, the economy continues to slowly get better, and the unemployment rate is steadily declining . Not quite as fast as we would like, but we recognize the magnitude of the nation’s problems.
