On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, President Barack Obama presented his State of the Union Address to the American people and Congress. During his address the President discussed, energy policies, education, corporate taxes, ways to improve the economy, and reduce unemployment. He also made a suggestion to Congress to pass a law that would allow homeowners to refinance their mortgages. The President openly stated to Congress that, “we will not go back to an economy weakened by outsourcing, bad debt, and phony financial profits.”

After President Obama’s State of the Union, Governor Mitch Daniels from Indiana presented the Republicans State of the Address to the country. Governor Daniels stated, “No feature of the Obama Presidency has been sadder than its constant efforts to divide us…the extremism that stifles the development of homegrown energy, or cancels a perfectly safe pipeline that would employ tens of thousands, or jacks up consumer utility bills for no improvement in either human health or world temperature, is a pro-poverty policy.” On behalf of the Republican Party, Governor Daniels also states that presidential policies have hurt the economy and suggested new strategies for the Republican’s to fix it.

Stayed tuned for Mitt Romney’s rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address.  The event will be held at the American Douglas Metals in Orlando, FL.
