There’s just no stopping the Queen of Neo-Soul these days. Erykah Badu has moved full force and full throttle through literally every musical genre known to man from jazz, to soul and R&B, back to the fundamentals of Hip Hop and now she’s even onto mixing and mastering her skills as a live DJ.

Don’t get it twisted, she’s still got soul, but her journey continues this week in Baltimore at Ram’s Head Live with a surprise performance from her touring digital band The Cannibinoids. The collaborative is made up of musicians and producers from her hometown of Dallas and they’re eager to create a new, innovative experience for music lovers everywhere.

Badu says the group’s first project is slated for release in 2012, but in the meantime they’re taking over stages near and far. So what does it all mean? Where did this all first take place? Badu took charge for the music scene in Dallas just a few years back and decided to grab all the producers and musicians she could find.

Get a taste of what it took to make the band work as a unit in the complete question and answer session linked below.
