Even though “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality star Phaedra Parks admitted viewers shouldn’t believe everything they see on the hit reality show, they know one story line is true — NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak don’t care for each other on-or-off camera.
“NeNe and Kim refused to film a single scene together this season,” a Bravo insider says. “For 14 weeks you will watch the show play out where its two breakout stars refuse to talk to each other.”
After last season’s racially-charged confrontation between a pregnant Kim and former best friend NeNe, the two promised they would never speak again — although no one at the time thought they would actually stick to it.
“Producers begged the two ladies to film a scene together. They wanted them to sit down on camera and talk about what went wrong like they did on the New York version of ‘Housewvies’ with Bethenny and Jill,” NeNe’s friend said. “But unlike Jill, NeNe wouldn’t fall for it. She knew she was being set up. NeNe knows that Bravo is developing a spin-off show for Kim and would edit Kim to be more sympathetic to set up her new show. So she refused to be part of any of it.”
Whether these two ladies go at it face-to-face, there will still be plenty of drama between NeNe and co-star Sheree Whitfield.
Sheree accused NeNe of taking money out of her pocket after going behind her back to renegotiate a gig.
In a moment of civility, NeNe and Sheree decided to meet face to face to discuss the alleged incident. Civility was quickly thrown out the window when Sheree calls Tyrone (the promoter) on speaker who confirms he spoke to NeNe directly. Offended by the accusations, NeNe gets up and yells that she’s been depositing ‘Donald Trump checks’, adding, ‘I am very rich’, ‘I am rich, b*tch.’
NeNe then storms out, Sheree follows reminding NeNe that she once had rotten teeth, couldn’t afford name brand clothing and her car was once repossessed in the parking lot of a Home Depot.
Talking to the cameras Sheree added, ‘The amount of success NeNe has had has gone to her head. I think it gave her a bigger ego.’
